Community Investment Policy
The purpose of this policy is to:

  • Ensure all donations are granted in line with our company guidelines and values;
  • Ensure that support is given in accordance with the general plans of our Community Investment Committee; and
  • Ensure that over-arching and local interests are taken in to consideration.

Bakkafrost will support cultural and sports societies and associations that benefit a wide range of people, including Bakkafrost. We prioritise supporting societies and associations in areas where we have operations. .

All applications must be in writing and must specify what the support is for and how the support will benefit both parties. All applications will be reviewed by our Community Investment Committee on a quarterly  basis. Applications – using the form below –  must be submitted to Bakkafrost at least two weeks before the meetings take place.

The Committee meets four times a year:

  • 15 February
  • 15 May
  • 15 August
  • 15 November

Bakkafrost sets aside a certain amount of money for financial support every year, but due to the volume of  applications received, we are unable to meet all requests for.

Bakkafrost will not support:

  • Any travel expenses; or
  • Book publications and albums, however, we will support these by buying a set quantity of all new Faroese publications and releases.
